NYE in Pittsburgh

New Years Eve is such a fun holiday but it’s also quite confusing until everything is figured out.  Two days before 2015 and we decided to start planning some fun, which doesn’t work out too well in downtown Pittsburgh…  BUT it ended up being a blast!  We went to a BYOB restaurant, Nicki’s Thai Kitchen, located on Penn Ave downtown and then continued the party at Redbeards.  Since most of our group was staying at the Renaissance hotel, Redbeards was conveniently across the street.  Also, much to our dismay,

they even had a live DJ upstairs- bonus!! Plus throw in all the light up toys we bought on the journey and you have yourself a pretty exciting evening.  OKAY- the evening story is almost over and I haven’t even discussed my feather skirt.  There really isn’t an appropriate time to wear sequins & feathers besides NYE, your bachelorette party, or any birthday under 12.  So since I only fall into one of those categories, you bet I was wearing that combination to ring in 2015.  I added a blazer to make the entire look age appropriate so I didn’t blend in with the children.

Drop the sequin top and add a basic sweater, and suddenly the feather skirt is tamed down for a less glamorous event.   I’m excited for the opportunity to wear this skirt again soon!! Cheers to 2015!! xxo Beth
